Super All Around Barbeque Sauce
Here's an easy to make, versatile BBQ sauce that can be brushed on ribs, chicken, burgers, steak, fish or use it to marinate shrimp before grilling. Or stir into a pot of baked beans for added flavor. To make it, put 1/4 teaspoon of Tobasco sauce, 1 tablespoon of chilli powder, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1/3 cup of packed brown sugar, 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice, 1/4 cup of Worchestshire sauce, 1/4 cup of canola oil, 1/2 cup of cider vinegar, 1 cup of water, 2 cups of ketchup, 4 cloves of garlic finley minced, and 1 onion finely chopped in a pot and bring it to a boil. Then reduce the heat and simmer the mixture for 10 to 15 minutes or until slightly thickened. Then pour the sauce through a strainer to remove the onion and garlic. Season to taste and let cool to room temperature. If you're not using it immediately, you can refrigerate it for up to a week. This recipe makes 3 cups, and
for each 2 tablespoon serving it has 60 calories, 10 grams of carbs, 1 gram of protein, 2.5 grams of fat, and is cholesterol free.
